The Experience

The Konkan strip runs from Mumbai south to Goa between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats. NH-66 is efficient, but the better riding is on the branch roads.

Murud-Janjira, Dabhol ferry, Jaigad, Ratnagiri, and Vengurla are connected by roads where villages and creeks shape the route more than any map line does.

South of Ratnagiri, the route moves through mango belt roads and then climbs inland near Amboli where temperature can drop sharply over short elevation gain.

Why This Route?

This is a route where the turns off NH-66 matter more than the highway itself. The ferry crossings and village roads are the route identity.

Day 1: Mumbai to Alibaug Coast Road

Bike handover and coastal start via harbor crossing.

Days 2-3: Murud-Janjira and Dabhol Ferry

Sea-fort access by boat and ferry crossing toward Jaigad side villages.

Days 4-5: Ratnagiri, Ganpatipule, and Guhagar

Coast-hugging roads and seafood-focused rider stops in Malvani belt.

Days 6-7: Malvan and Ghats Ascent

Sindhudurg section and climb to Amboli through dense forest switchbacks.

Days 8-9: Vengurla and Goa Approach

Final coastal lanes near Devbagh and controlled entry to north Goa zone.
